There are Academic and General training tests for IELTS. Academic tests are for students willing to study in an English-speaking country.
The General Training Tests are for individuals willing to run working experience, training programs, secondary school or migrate to an English - speaking country.
Both versions have the same listening and speaking tests, but different writing and reading tests.

Results and certification
There is no specific pass standard for IELTS. As a test is designed to check the students' overall level of English.

After your IELTS exam, you receive your results in a written form within 13 days. Students can not request scores by telephone or email. You get a score for every sections test and the average overall mark for the exam. The IELTS test results are valid for 2 years.
