State Standardized Tests! Oh, My! These tests have become increasingly high stakes for teachers and administrators, whose jobs are often kept or lost based on how well the students do on the tests. Most schools conduct some type of organized preparation and test review before the tests are administered. The emphasis of some courses on test preparation and the amount of time spent reviewing for the tests vary according to the views of the administration.

What is the most critical part of the day? What sets the tone for the day? For many teachers the classroom management strategy that is most critical for their success each day is the one that controls the first five minutes of the day. Here are several ideas that you may want to try using in your own classroom. They have made my life easier, and I am sure they will do the same for you as well! One of the best things you can do as a teacher is "arm" yourself with knowledge that will help improve your classroom management skills, teach you how to prevent and deal with behavior problems, and help you plan lessons more effectively.
All around the world , students of all ages are learning to speak English , but their reasons for wanting to study English can differ greatly. Some students only learn English because it is on the curriculum at primary or secondary level, but for others , studying the language reflects some kind of a choice .Many people learn because they have moved into a target- language community. Many people learn English because they think it will be useful in some way for international communication and travel. The purposes students have for learning will have an effect on what it is they want and need to learn – and as a result will influence what they are taught.(Jeremy Haremr 2007).
English is an international language, which is spoken in international events and is used as the medium of transferring information flow on science. Technology, and culture as well. Research has shown that every human being has his or her own way of learning and that students do not learn as well when that style is thwarted. Many teachers are aware that their students favor different learning styles.
Well-motivated students learn better. This fact has been well-established for years and has compelled educators to develop different motivational techniques to improve learning outcomes in classrooms. If this is the case in a typical classroom dynamic, it is the same or even more so in the teaching of English as a second or foreign language.

Everybody tries their level best to perform good at their academic studies, yet only a few find it easy to learn more and study less to make good grades. These few students are not the smarter ones; rather they are the students who exactly know how to learn things and how to get better grades. Learning is a serious job and if you are in a class with many students, learning also becomes a competitive job.

We know the books are important, the pencil, the computer, the white and blackboard and so are the chairs to sit on, but if there is no motivated and inspiring teacher in front of the chairs, if there is no such teacher to write with chalk on the blackboard and to teach ... then there is no learning, no reading, no maths, no passing on of knowledge, ethics and values, no instilling of a "love to learn ethos" in the student.

Make sure you leave clear, detailed instructions on your desk where it is easy to find.
