Twenty years ago when my son was small, I would play English games with him in an attempt to raise him bilingually. He really liked those games, and when he outgrew them, I used them in my elementary school classes. I was amazed to see how enraptured Japanese youngsters were with English games.
Since I have been a music lover all my life, it is only natural for me to bring English songs into the EFL classroom. I believe music fills a room up with warmth as strong as rays of sunshine filtering through a window.

Oral English is an important course for EFL college students in China. However, for a long time there has been a controversy about who should teach oral English, a native English speaker or a Chinese teacher of English. Undoubtedly, a good oral English teacher should be a good English speaker. Many native English speakers have proven to be successful teachers in oral English classes in China. However, this does not necessarily mean a good English speaker is a good oral English teacher.

The emphasis is not only on linguistic competence of the language learners but also on the development of their communicative ability. In order to develop the learners' communicative ability, the teacher needs to create a scenario to teach the target language in a vibrant, active and interesting manner.

And because of its importance, I am often amazed at how many English classrooms in Japan lack stimulating visual English materials.
