Every teacher regardless of year level must have a class management procedure under their sleeves. A well thought out classroom strategy can mean the difference between a productive year for both students and teacher and a bad one. Every teacher, regardless if you are new or seasoned ones, the success or failure of the classroom would be dependent on your teaching talents and how effective is your management procedure.

Class management is never the same for all classrooms you would be directing in. A strategy may be ineffective in one particular class, but appropriate in the other. Much more effective classroom management is not taught in college. Where it comes from are years of teaching experience. Thus, before stepping into your class next time, make sure to have a procedure at the back of your mind. Here are simple suggestions on how you can start and draft your own sets of classroom organization.

Suggestion #1: Set classroom rules. Setting your own rules must be the first priority you must have. But this does not mean you need to be a tyrant in class. You are simply putting yourself manager and teacher at the same time. Draft rules that will not suffocate your students; but don't be so lenient that you will simply allow them to do everything. Post these rules beside the board so they will be reminded on the proper decorum while in class.

Suggestion #2: Set creativity. This is often a step that most teachers neglect when conducting classes. True that teacher must impart lessons to the students thru lecturing. But some students are often distracted even at the middle. Thus, to get their attention back you must present other ways that will still convey the lessons in a more enjoyable manner. This will not only make your student focus on the lecture but will also help them to easily digest the lessons.

Suggestion #3: Set personal talks. Though teachers and students must have boundaries, this does not mean you need to limit yourself away from them. An effective teacher always reaches to their students in a manner that is respectable. Set small conversations to your students before or after class. With this, you can gauge their interest, what they had understood and what are their concerns. Their inputs are valuable for your professional growth. And they will also feel that they are important to you. Furthermore, they might change their initial impression towards you.

The teaching profession is indeed a noble one. Even if you are already in that slot, there is still room for new knowledge inputs. Following the three stated suggestions can actually take a major leap in your teaching career. Thus for that effective class management, following these simple procedures can definitely flourish your profession positively.
