Step One - The Brain

How Memory Works
· Short-term memory: Things heard or seen for a few seconds, "Not a frequent incident,"

(Accessible long-term memory):
· Information we cannot forget even if we tried, (Example) Your name, Address etc.
· Things frequently seen and/or heard example (Names and Addresses) lodges itself in the Long-term memory/Accessible memory

(Inaccessible long-term memory):
· All experiences recorded through the senses. Sight, Hearing and other senses, a one time experience." Something seen or heard once, with no frequency to the experience."

Absorbing Information
· We human beings absorb information depending on how it is Processed..
· Most scholars have a bad habit to cram, let I explain this method of studying. When you cram information is placed in your Short-term memory.
· The cram process is temporary where easy recollection is concerned, reasons for this, information is compressed or forced to the brain.
· In order to recall information, it must be processed in intervals. It is not the data that we process to memory, it is how we process it.

The first rule, make swatting obsolete
· To cram can be very risky for someone studying for an exam. Come with me on this journey of becoming an academic genius.
(Note)
· The first and last things that are heard or seen are what we usually remember.
(Experiment)
Re sight to a friend these numbers 45, 10, 56, 23, 61, 13, 78 and 43, then ask that friend to tell you the first and last numbers then the middle number.
(Results)
· Your friend can recall the first and last numbers but will have difficulty remembering the middle numbers. This is because the concentration level fell due to the length period.

It Boils back down to what was said above. "The first and last things that are seen or heard are what we usually remember." The Chart below shows the concentration levels, when the brain is absorbing information for 30 minutes. During which the brain gets tired and the concentration level falls, and at the point of rest it rises back to the peak.

Think of the possibilities, if the levels on the chart above does not fall below 8. This means the concentration levels will always be in top shape

(Question)
Have you ever felt Lazy or Sleepy while reading a document?
The reasons for the is:
· Your concentration level fell; Its during this period that the brain is saying "Time Out.".
· You are reading / studying too long (Stop compressing information to memory)
(Note)
· Do not force the brain to absorb information..... When you input information over and over it will automatically enter accessible long-term memory.
(Secrets)
· Make sure you are relaxed while studying.
· between short study periods, 5-8 Minutes do something recreational.
(Example)
Listen to some Music or watch Television.
How To Take Notes:
How To Write Notes:
· Are the words from a song, or a message from a friend, much easier to remember than a simple paragraph in geography?
· The reason for this phenomena are the wordings of the information, remember we will write in proper English, but speaking it on a daily basis is not usual.
· The brain translates daily speech into proper English and back again.

Your brain automatically re-arranges textbook English "Proper English." And stores it to the format/wording most frequently used. (Example) Broken Language.
· Taking notes is a art that should be mastered, as this has a lot to do with where the information is placed in the brain, either in the long-term or short-term memory.
· When writing notes make sure it is taken in your own words (Example) Broken English.
· Writing notes (information) in your own format not in text book format will automatically trigger your accessible long term memory.

Why?
· When the brain creates or re-creates, the information automatically enters the accessible long-term memory.

(Note)
· Translate from text book English to your own broken English then study.
(Example)
1. The boy ran down the road yesterday (Teachers Notes)
2. Yesterday the boy ran down the road (Your Notes)
