One of the greatest hindrances to ESL coaching is Teacher Talk Time (TTT). Teacher Talk Time is the amount of time that a teacher spends talking in the class. Since a tradition English class to English speaking students is often dominated by teacher explanations, many teachers think that this should also be the case in an ESL classroom. There is quite the argument concerning the importance of education in life. You look at the people with education and they argue that without it, they wouldn't have gotten anywhere in life. Then you ask the successful people that don't have an education and they of course would argue in the opposite direction. These are just generalizations because not everyone in each group would argue in these directions but just as an example, this is one way that the debate can be started.
