ArticleBecoming a teacher makes you ready for the fact that your education doesn't have an end. It's a never ending cycle. You need to learn new ideas everyday and you pass that on to the people around you. It is a noble and dignified profession which brings changes in a person's life. The school serves as the foundation for the learning process of every individual. Its four corners give shelter to hungry minds of people seeking for further knowledge. This is where the role of teachers on education comes in. It's not that easy to educate and impart knowledge, but this is the task of every teacher. Such responsibility is laid on their hands that much is expected from them. They need to teach their students how to be interested in the lessons that they are presenting. They need to set an example in order for them to be effective in their chosen field. And for them to do that, they need to have a commitment towards fulfilling their duties wholeheartedly. Creating lesson plans, grading quizzes and doing other school-related activities would actually take most out of a teacher's time. Furthermore, half of their lives are already involved in the activities that would help in building the right kind of attitude from their students. On the other hand, people often make a wrong impression and a big deal about the pay that teachers are getting. Well, it could be true that the compensation a teacher gets has totally improved nowadays, but sometimes its still not enough to meet all of their needs especially that most often than not, a teacher also voluntarily renders extra service to reach out to the people around, including the less- fortunate. The recognition they get from it usually is more fulfilling than any amount of money they can get when practicing their profession. Some people say that teaching is indeed an odd profession. Teachers are both shown reverence and sympathy at the same time. This is because one must have the kind of dedication in order to survive the challenges that come along with this career. One must have a "calling" for him to last long in this field. Every one of us has an opinion of an ideal teacher and what he must be doing. They take on many responsibilities like acting as an educator, mentor, parent, motivator and friend to their students. Their success is being judged according to varying levels of abilities and knowledge that their students have acquired from them. This is one of the challenges of education, but its outcome is truly rewarding. The most important fact about being a teacher is putting oneself into another person's shoes. It's a matter of getting involved emotionally to their subject matter and to their students. It's going the extra mile to reach out and fulfill their duties diligently. Certainly, the art of being a teacher lies in the beauty of what they can bring out from their students.
